Erika Chang is the twin sister to Eron Chang and a descendant of the legendary Dark Ones. She is an OC introduced in the Arc 1 Prologue and serves as the leading female antagonist throughout New Trials of Cardcaptor Sakura.
Erika is the daughter of Eriko Yoshida and Ryouta Chang. When their mother passed away, she and Eron were taken to the orphanage. Their father, Ryouta, had left them at the time. It is revealed that Erika had a weak heart when she was young. When they were five years old, she often had to make visits to the hospital. When they were seven, she had to stay in the hospital permanently. In the New Trials Special: Eron and Erika's promise, it is revealed that Erika could've died because her operation had failed. However, she was able to live because she had accepted the power of the Dark Ones. At one point, she and Eron's uncle, Reiji Chang, had taken care of them until he died.
APPEARANCE[]
Erika is described as very beautiful by many characters. She has dark, purple hair, with a tint of reddish color. Her eyes are hazel with golden hues in them. She is said to resemble her mother, Eriko. She wears a black gem-like rock around her neck, which contains the soul of Risa Chang, one of the original Dark Ones. She wears a ruby stud earring in her right ear above her usual set of earrings. She is currently still under the control of the Dark Ones.
PERSONALITY[]
At first, Erika seemed very cold, distant, and distrusting. She can also be selfish and self-centered at times. However, she deeply cares for her twin brother Eron. She has a fear of being left alone, which starts to grow even more when Eron becomes an ally of Sakura's. She felt like Eron abandoned her to join Sakura's alliance. She doesn't want to be left behind. She had never loved anyone except Eron and herself. However, when she dated Mike Kant, she developed feelings for him. She felt depressed when he broke up with her. When Erika found out her body was too weak for childbirth, she began dating boys that she didn't care for. This is because she doesn't see a future in any relationship she has with a guy.
Erika and Eron had traveled before coming to Japan to strengthen their powers. Erika is strong at times, shown when she was able to use The Metal card when it was a Sakura Card. Her heart condition has improved since she has accepted the power of the Dark Ones.
Unlike Eron, Erika is very artistic.
